Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP):

This is a federally funded program that assists the client with payment of electricity, gas, oil, coal, propane or wood expenses necessary for heating. HEAP is a program based on income eligibility, and the guidelines usually change from one year to the next. The program generally runs from November – April. Applications must be filed annually. When the season begins, interested clients should contact the Office for the Aging for information.
