FRAUD ALERT

COUNTY OF SCHOHARIE LAUNCHES “FRAUD ALERT” FOR PROPERTY OWNERS

Schoharie County Clerk Lawrence J. Caza is now providing a free, new tool to make property owners aware of potentially fraudulent activity concerning their most asset, their homes and property.

The County Clerk’s Office is now able to offer a Fraud Alert website where anyone can sign up to receive email alerts whenever a document is recorded or filed in your name in Schoharie County.  This is not just for land records but will alert for any document filed in my office.  It is important to keep in mind that this Fraud Alert system will not prevent a document from being filed but it will make the person aware that there has been activity in your name.  

Please note there may be other property owners in the County that share the same name.
