Welcome to the Schoharie County Clerk’s Office:

The County Clerk’s Office is one of the oldest Offices in New York State and carries with it a number of responsibilities.

The County Clerk is the keeper and repository of land records and civil court proceedings, as well as the Clerk of the Supreme and County Court, Records Management Officer, local Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, and Clerk of the Central Printing and Mailing Department.

As a citizen of Schoharie County, it is very likely that an important personal transaction will take place for you at the County Clerk’s Office or Motor Vehicle at some point in time.

To acquaint you with most of the services and functions of this office, we have included information within this site, which we hope you will find helpful.  Always feel free to stop by our office or Call for a prompt and courteous response to any questions you may have. Our Staff is here to help.

As employees of Schoharie County taxpayers, we are dedicated to the service of filing and protecting legal documents, issuing drivers licenses and registrations and a host of other transactions in the most timely and efficient manner possible. E-Z Pass Tags are available at the Schoharie County Clerk’s Office, as well as the D.M.V.  The cost is $25 for each.  For more information, please see E-Z Pass FAQs.

The Schoharie County Clerk’s Office is now able to offer a Fraud Alert notification website where anyone can sign up to receive email alerts whenever a document is recorded or filed in your name in the County Clerk’s Office.  This is not just for land records but will alert for any documents filed in my office.
